Josh and Andrea's Mountaintop Marriage Proposal
how they asked: Josh’s 21st birthday was August 1st and I made reservations at a surprise restaurant that night after we went hiking with two of his younger siblings. I got an email that my reservation had been cancelled and had to call back to reserve it again. Josh told me to dress casual that day because the hike was simple and short, so I wore jean shorts and a white shirt. I was getting frustrated because the hike was a little more strenuous than he said and I wasn’t so comfortable.
We started to approach a wooden sign with a picture of us and flowers in a mason jar, that’s when I looked and saw 15 of them on a trail to the top of the mountain and looked at him and said “I know what this is!”
He explained that the 15 signs represent 15 years of knowing each other and 15 months of dating! Each sign had a verse from 1 Corinthians 13 explaining the attributes of love and a picture of us throughout the years.
I don’t cry easily but I was teary eyed and as we walked to the top to see a set up of a beautiful platform shaped like a heart and 3 roses in vases, I started to ugly cry!
He lead me up to the top on the platform and proceeded to explain what the flowers meant and reached into a bowl of water to pull out a beautiful purple flower, kneeled down on his knee, opened his hands to reveal the most beautiful rose gold ring on that flower and asked me to be his wife!
Of course I said yes with no hesitation and I have never had an easier question to answer!
Meanwhile I thought we were heading back to the restaurant to celebrate his birthday but little did I know he was the one who cancelled my reservation and told the lady it was because he was proposing…sneaky sneaky!
