How we met: Caleb and I met at a kids summer camp we both worked at. He was the head lifeguard and I was on the program staff. He caught my eye from across the campfire one beautiful night and I haven’t been able to take my eyes off him since. We started dating at the end of the summer just as I was heading back to college. We powered through long distance for a year and then I came home and we picked up right where we left off… at camp again.
Summer nights were the very best, always spent star gazing, boating, swimming, and fishing! Camp is where we met, fell in love, and SURPRISE.. where he popped the question!
how they asked: It had been such a long and warm day at summer camp and Caleb surprised me with a boat ride down the lake to get some ice cream- my favourite! As we were heading back on the ski-doo he took a wrong turn and we were headed in a direction that led me to feel very suspicious!
Sure enough, it wasn’t long until we were parked on a little island off the lake and I was lead up a path of candles to a warm fire, chocolate fondue, dry clothes, and of course… that sparkly ring! I punched him so hard that I think I winded him but when he caught his breathe, he got down on one knee and asked if I would be his teammate for the rest of our lives.. my answer… OF COURSE, YES!
Our engagement photos were taken at Waterton Lakes National Park by the talented David Guenther Photography. Waterton holds a dear place in our hearts and relationship as our summers have been spent hiking there.
