Jordan and Jackson

How We Met

Jackson and I met in 5th grade, and while I can’t say it was love at first sight, he is the only person I can look back and remember the exact moment we met that day. I was visiting his school and ended up going there the next year.

We became close friends but we didn’t start dating until junior year of high school. It felt crazy, but at 17 I knew he was going to be my husband. (First photo is 8th-grade graduation, second is sometimes when we were 12, and 3rd is high school graduation)

How They Asked

Jackson and I started dating in DC junior year of high school. He has written me a letter every month for the past few years, and last may he had my best friend take me to DC to walk around and take pictures. When my friend and I had gotten to this area with beautiful weeping willows and a pond, she stopped walking and pulled out a letter from Jackson.

I knew right then that my life was about to change forever. I hurriedly read it and saw that in the end it was signed “the last letter from your boyfriend.” I walked across a little bridge and there he was. He said a few words that I was too stunned to remember and then got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I, of course, said yes. It’s been 10 months and now we are getting married next week!
