How We Met

Our journey began in 2008 when I was a senior in high school. I was invited by my best friend, Kayti to go on a double date bowling. I was originally pared with my fiancé’s friend Chris. Kayti was going out with my fiancé, Ian. Months went by and things faded between them two and come February of 2009 he wished me a happy birthday. After short time exchanging messages on Facebook we decided to hang out. Summer began and we started going to the lake which I had to lie to my parents about because I was not allowed to go anywhere without them knowing and meeting the guy. After 7 months of dating we made it official in September of 2009. Since then we have be inseparable.

how they asked

Ian told me we were going to New York for a trip. I had suspected he would propose while we were there, I just had no idea it would be so perfect. I was prepared to spend 3 nights and 4 days with the love of my life in the city that never sleeps. We explored every corner of the city imaginable. Saturday was the busiest day he had planned. Our day started with a helicopter ride around the city, which was breath taking. From there we went to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis island. While on the helicopter ride and at the Statue of Liberty I cried because I was so overwhelmed with emotions of my dreams coming true.

New York City had always been a obsession and dream of mine. After we left Ellis Island we boarded the fairy and proceeded across the city to Grand Central Station. Which was incredible, from there we went the the New York Public Library and Bryant park. Our last destination was Central Park where we stumbled upon a ice skating rink, so of course we had to do it. This ice skating rink could not have been in a better place. It was tucked underneath the trees of the park but had a gorgeous view of the towering buildings on 5th Avenue. As we were skating around Ian kept say he recognized this fella. It was Ryan Leslie a professional recording artist and music producer. Ian insisted that he wanted Ryan to take our picture on the rink, at dusk with 5th Avenue sky line in our background. He jumped off the ice and went to speak with Ryan as I took another lap. As I am approaching them Ian is walking back and I am flipping my hair preparing for the picture. Ian steps back on to the ice and starts to take his position beside me but then stops and says “I have waited 7 years to ask you this and I am not taking another step until you answer me” he grabbed my hips to stabilize himself as he got down on one knee and asked “Krystale Jordan King will you marry me”.
