How We Met

The story: It was a casual Thursday evening, so she thought. I told Molly I wanted to take her on a date night and that it was all a surprise. We arrived at The Southern Hotel, a beautiful historic boutique hotel in downtown Covington, Louisiana to begin the night with a drink at the hotel bar. The hotel was closed to the public at the time however I pulled a couple of strings and they were thrilled to have us for this special moment. So to play along, we were turned away at the front door and they told us they were closed, little did Molly know that the hotel concierge was in on the plan the whole time. Sneaky sneaky.

They offered to let us check out their courtyard and when we walked into the courtyard, Molly began to see what was happening. I had arranged for a private table for two with a bouquet of roses and a bottle of wine located near the courtyard fountain illuminated by candles and string lights with photos of some of our favorite memories on display. I immediately turned to Molly and got down on one knee with the ring and asked if she would marry me. Once she said a resounding “Yes!”, I had some of our favorite local pizza delivered for us to enjoy. The hotel staff was even so kind enough to provide us with a complimentary bottle of champagne for the celebration. This night will go down as one of the most memorable nights with the love of my life. We’ve experienced so many blessings and wild adventures together, making the best memories and finding time to enjoy the little things as soon to be husband and wife.
