How We Met

I met Pat in 2009, through mutual friends in Maryland. We casually talked for a while and quickly became obsessed with one another, never wanting to spend any waking minute apart.

In the past 7 years, we have truly learned the meaning of love. We have matured together, traveled to numerous destinations, and moved across the country to San Diego together. We have overcome the many hardships of being far away from family and friends and everything we thought we knew back home.

Wedding Proposal Ideas in Costa Rica

This incredible journey we have been on so far has taught me more about myself than I would have ever thought I could learn and I can not imagine what the future has in store for us. I can hardly wait.

how they asked

Our closest friends know that our running inside joke was always that we had met over a waterfall and when Pat decided that I was the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with, he knew he had to find the perfect waterfall to pop the question. When we decided we would take a vacation to Costa Rica, little did I know that he had been planning away! He chose Nuyaca Falls as the place he would ask me to be his wife. That day, we hiked seven miles down to the falls with barely anything in our stomachs and minimal amount of water because we were under the impression that the hike would just be a couple of miles.

At the end of the hike we were both exhausted, I jumped right into the water and was confused as to why he had not. I did not question it, as the airline had lost our luggage and he did not have a change of clothes. When I got out of the water he wanted to ask someone to take a photo of us with the falls in the background, which wasn’t out of the ordinary. Little did I know, he had asked the gentleman to snap multiple photos. After the first photo, I was feeling a little uneasy when the man kept taking photos I did not even realize he had got down on one knee…
