How We Met
Back in 2015, I had a bad breakup so I figured that I wouldn’t want a relationship for a while and that being in a relationship just wasn’t in the cards for me. I created this account on an online website called meet me. Just to make some friends. Well, they had a way you could match with people, and I matched with a guy named Corey. And the cool thing was, he only lived 30 minutes away!
We started talking on August 23, 2015, and then talked for that whole week! Then August 29, 2015, my mom took me to meet him! He asked me to be his girlfriend that day! At the time he didn’t have his license or a job because he was in school to become a welder, we only saw each other on the weekends.
Then in February 2016, my parents helped him get his license, he graduated from trade school and became a welder and got a welding job! Then a month later he moved in with us! He went to both of my high school proms, my senior homecoming. He was there for me through both of my surgeries I have had. We both talked about the future and marriage, and it was something we wanted! So we were always there for each other and being in a relationship with your best friend is an amazing feeling!!

For my 20th birthday, this past June I decided to have a birthday lunch with my closest friends. I had this thing where I didn’t want to open any of the gifts I got in front of anyone because I just like to open gifts on my own.
Well, Corey and my two friends were insisting I stand up and open this one gift in front of everyone. But I was like why. I finally did stand up and open the gift. It was a t-shirt that said “This Just Got Real” with the “O” in got being a ring. So I was reading the shirt and then I put it down and Corey was there on one knee asking me to marry him!
I said YESS!!
What was funny though is that a month prior, I slammed my ring finger in a car door so when he went to put the ring on my finger he couldn’t because I had a band-aid on and my nails weren’t done! But I just was happy I was engaged to my best friend!
