How We Met
I met Jennifer at Oklahoma Christian University last August during our Junior year. We hit it off right away, and within a month, I convinced her to be my girlfriend. A little over a year later, we started to see life apart from each other as not an option. We quickly became best friends and strongest support systems for each other that we’ve ever had. Since she came to OC from Arizona, we spent a summer apart, and I worked every hour a could to save up and pop the question. I knew that I never wanted her to be away from me like that ever again, and that I wanted to take care of her for the rest of her life!
how they asked
I started planning this proposal around July and bought the plane tickets far in advance. When the day rolled around, all she knew was that we were going on a surprise one day trip for fall break, and she had no idea where we were going until we were on our way to the airport. She had been hinting at wanting to go to Disneyland together, many times throughout our relationship, and I always replied with “maybe someday”, while I really knew exactly when we’d be there and what was waiting for her.
I arranged with the photo pass photographer a few minutes prior, while I had her distracted. I led her toward the castle and stood there in front of her holding her hands. Her eyes immediately started to well up as I told my best friend how much I loved her and wanted to take care of her, for the rest of her life. I got down on one knee and she said yes without hesitation. For the rest of the day she was the happiest I’ve ever see her, and I felt like the luckiest man in the world!
