How We Met: Chase and I went to high school together and I was a year above him. During all of high school, we knew each other but didn’t ever talk. After Chase graduated, he joined the U.S. Navy and we started talking a few weeks before he was shipped to boot camp. After about 2 months, he was home from a medical separation and the day he was home we instantly started to talk and hangout again.
Within just over a month of him being home we were dating.
how they asked: My step-father enjoys taking photos and had asked us a couple weeks before about taking some pictures. It turned out, however, we were unable to do the pictures that day he wanted.
Weeks later, Chase asked my step-father and mother to tell us we were going out to try to take pictures again — me having no idea what was actually going to happen.
After a few photos my step-father had us walk up some steps while he took pictures. Once at the top of the steps, Chase began to tell me how much he loved me and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. He then got down on his knee and said “Jenna Groen, will you marry me?” I instantly replied with a yes.
