Engagement Proposal Ideas in At home

How We Met

We met back in August of 2015, I was taking my car to a friends house to get fixed and he just happened to be there helping work on someone else’s car. I had just gotten out of a really bad relationship and was not looking for another one anytime soon seeing as though the last one resulting in my (at the time) one year old son. But there was just something about him and he was extremely persistent in trying to talk to me. So I gave him a chance and the first time we hung out one on one it was just magic. I felt so comfortable with him like I’d known him my entire life, and from that moment I knew he was the one. I never looked back.

how they asked

I was working late that Friday because I thought he was going to work late as well, when all of a sudden I got a text from him two hours early saying he was home and asking when I would be done with work. So I told him when I left work and he seemed very frantic, which is unlike him because he’s usually always very calm. I had been giving him grief for months that we weren’t engaged or married after being together for three years and he hated when I brought it up. I had been giving him grief that Friday prior to the engagement as well. He kept texting me telling me I needed to get home now, come home, you need to get home now I need you. So I thought something was wrong so I sped home, only to open the door and find him on his knee inside with the ring in his hands asking me to marry him. I thought for sure it was a joke, so I told him he wasn’t funny and didn’t believe he was actually proposing. He laughed, grabbed my son and had him say “mommy you have to marry my daddy!” And I immediately melted, cried, and of course said yes!
