Christian and I first met in high school when his friend Hunter decided to date my best friend Sam, and he introduced me to Christian. Christian seemed like a nice guy, but I wasn’t interested in dating him at first. On Valentine’s day, he gave me a chocolate candy bar since I “didn’t have a valentine”. I think that was his way of hinting that he wanted me to be his valentine. What really won me over was when he brought me a beautiful rose from his mother’s favorite bush. She had died a few years ago, and it was one of the few things he had left of hers. We began dating, and a few years later…
how they asked
Christian proposed to me on the covered bridge at Little Buffalo State Park with a hand-made wooden sign that said “Will You Marry Me” and a beautiful ring. We really enjoy hiking the many nature trails in our area, so I didn’t suspect anything that day when we went to Little Buffalo.
His friend was hiding in the bushes to take a picture when Christian proposed. Of course I said “yes”, and I am so excited to begin my future with my high school sweetheart. He laughs with me, cries with me, and sometimes gets on my nerves, but I wouldn’t trade him for anybody. We will be getting married this October at the same place he proposed to me.
