How We Met
Andy & I met in college, Winter of 2011! We both lived on the University of Minnesota campus. We had mutual friends but met one night out. I knew when we met, something was different out Andy. We dated 1 year, but took a couple years off post-college, only after realizing we should still be together! We’ve now been taking almost 5 years and have enjoyed every second!
How They Asked
My family had been trying to plan a trip you Banff, Canada for a while now and we finally found a weekend that worked out! The trip was planned last minute (1 month out) and we were all able to make it which was a miracle! The 2nd day we were there, we drove 4 hours north to do a Glacier tour in Athabasca, Canada. We took a giant tour bus with wheels as big as me out onto the glacier. When we got out there, we were informed that we’d have about 25 minutes to walk around the glacier. We walked around & when we were taking photos, Andy got down on his knee and asked me to marry him!
My family was all around us and JUST as surprised because he had only told/asked my dad, so my sisters and mom were shocked as well! It was the perfect setting! Being that we were in the middle of a glacier, we didn’t have phone service all day which was nice to just enjoy the moment as a newly engaged couple!
