How We Met
Clint and I met in 7th grade when his family moved from Superior, Montana to good ole Eau Claire, Wisconsin. We became good friends and in 8th grade he asked me to be his girlfriend (super serious stuff, I know). I said no because to me, he was just a really great friend. Throughout high school and into college I considered him one of my best guy friends, even though we’d have our flirty moments. We started dating the summer after our freshman year in college (he FINALLY made it out of the friend zone!) and had been together over three years when he proposed. Not only do I get to marry the love of my life, but also my best friend.
how they asked
For our three-year anniversary, Clint got me a couples photoshoot with a local photographer since he knows how much I love getting pictures taken (let’s be honest, what girl doesn’t?)
So when the day came, we went about our shoot normally with some cute poses and a couple of outfit changes when Sarah, our photographer, asked if I had any other pose ideas I wanted to do. I told her I couldn’t think of anything since we had already done so many!
Then Clint turned to me and said, “Actually, I have one more”, as he got down on one knee, pulled a ring out of his pocket, and asked me to marry him.
I instantly started bawling tears of joy and somehow managed to get out a “yes” between sobs and laughs. Little did I know, Clint had contacted the photographer almost 6 months earlier to come up with this plan and had been saving money for over a year. It was such and breathtaking and unforgettable moment that we now have photographed to remember and to cherish for the rest of our lives together.
