Jamie and I have been working for a humanitarian charity in the Dominican Republic and our days are coming to an end. Seeing as we are moving back to Canada, Jamie told me that we were going to go on one last epic date.
The morning started out with breakfast in bed and then I was given a box to unwrap. Inside was a note that said “the items in this box are to capture today’s adventure. Do you wish to proceed, check yes or no.” It had a Go Pro and a poloroid camera inside. Throughout the day I was given little packages to open with clues inside on what we would be doing. We started the day by going Crystal Kayaking in a beautiful coral reef. He gave me two “coupons” to redeem a new bathing suit to where for the rest of our date where we took a little boat to eat at our favourite lunch spot.
As we adventured around the island to some of our favorurite spots we made sure to snap a few poloroids and videos along the way. We ended the day by stopping at one of my favourite clothing stores to buy a dress that I would wear to dinner. Jamie took me to this beautiful private residence and to my surprise we walked passed the restaurant and ventured out to a beautiful cliff side where a private table was set right behind the sun setting over the ocean. It was truly picturesque. Jamie set up his professional camera and said that we would take a few photos together as the sun set. He told me that the timer on his camera was for some reason not working so he would have to just take a video and screen capture the photos later. I now know that it was all a part of his master plan to capture the whole thing on camera!
Jamie got me to do all sorts of poses with him and finally asked me to turn around and stand back to back to him. As I was standing with my back to him he got down on one knee and told me that he had one last box for me to open.
Jamie asked me to marry him and I gladly accepted with tears flowing. Our friend was hiding in the bushes and captured the most beautiful photos of the entire proposal. As we dinned in the candle light we both didn’t want this night to end. We finally headed back to our apartment which was filled with candles, Hershey kisses, champagne and even swan towels to decorate the bed! It was truly a night to remember to say the least!
