We were doing a road trip of the South African east and south coast and on our way to our last destination we stopped at the Hole in the Wall, which is based in Coffee Bay, Eastern Cape, South Africa.
The setting was perfect! She was looking beautiful and was not expecting a thing, so everything was running according to plan. On arrival we took a short hike to our destination (hole in the wall) where we planned on popping some champagne to celebrate our road trip thus far. As we approached the perfect setting we were both gobsmacked by the extreme beauty of this piece of heaven. It felt like we were in a different world.
The excitement in the air was out of this world and this just aided to that exact moment of popping the question! We found a nice little spot in front of the wall and then I positioned the camera perfectly, pressed record and told her that we will be taking a photo a bit later. She never knew that I was recording the entire proposal, which made it perfect.
We popped the champagne and celebrated out journey thus far and then I said to her that I had one more Christmas present for her. I stood up and got the scrapbook that I made for her. Inside was a timeline of our relationship from the beginning till that moment. She was ecstatic! We went through the entire time line and on the very last page was an empty photo frame that said; “please insert photo here.” This was my moment. I stood up took her hand and said why don’t we take the photo now? At first she didn’t understand what was going on but as soon as I dropped down on one knee, the penny dropped. I asked the question and then there was a long pause, out of shock off course, then I had to ask her again and then she finally said yes!
It was brilliant! She cried out of excitement for about an hour but we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect setting and brilliant proposal! Everything was such a blessing and I had made her the happiest girl in the world!
