How We Met
Logan and I met December 2018 through a mutual friend. Coincidentally he is a police officer, and I swore I’d never date a cop! Why? Because my family is full of police officers & I guess I wanted to be different! From the moment I saw a photo of Logan, I felt a strong connection with him so eventually, we set up a double date with another couple and it went so well. So well that I thought it was too good to be true! I never believed in the cliche “when you know, you know” but I was starting to feel that way! Within a few weeks, we both knew that we would be together forever. We never spent a moment apart. Logan made me feel so special and so loved. He really was the kind of man I’d always dreamed of. He’s very selfless and caring, something I’d never experienced.
How They Asked
In February of 2019, we booked a cruise for this September. All of my friends were convinced he would propose on our trip. I was beginning to agree with this idea and started shopping for our trip to make sure I was prepared, just in case. I know he was beginning to think I was a shopaholic. As we began to get closer to our trip, I loved the idea of taking the next steps with Logan. Every goal and dream I had, he had too and supported me. In August I planned a surprise trip for Logan’s 25th birthday. We travelled to Greenville SC from Charleston. When we met Logan told me how he had always wanted to visit a pretty place, so that’s one of the places we visited. I gave him a heads up of our plans a few days before we left so he could pack appropriately. So on August 25, we drive up a mountain, that seemingly took forever, but we finally made it to Pretty Place chapel.
He told me he borrowed a selfie tripod from his dad, just in case there was no one else there to take a photo of us. I thought nothing of this, just that he wanted a great picture. To my surprise, standing in front of the cross with the mountains behind us, Logan got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! To say I was shocked was an understatement! I had been so sure he would ask on our trip and I was caught off guard as I had planned this trip to celebrate him! Just another reminder to me of how selfless Logan is and how much he loves me. August 25 will always be a day I remember for the rest of my life. I can’t wait to marry this man!
