Jada and Ian

how we met

We are High School Sweethearts! Funny story, when we talk about the first time we met each other we have two different stories. My fiancé Ian, claims to have met me sophomore year after school one day. He said he introduced himself and everything. I have no recollection of that so if you ask me, I met him through mutual friends.

how they asked

While I was living in California, my fiancé was going to school in Chicago. I decided to fly out to visit him during Memorial Day Weekend. We explored Chi-town together and the day of my proposal began at Millennium Park where we took pictures by the famous “Bean” or Cloud Gate. After a bit of walking around, we rode the tram to the Chicago Botanic Garden. This is where the magic happened! I have a deep appreciation for plants so while we were walking around, I was just over the moon looking at all the beautiful greenery. After a bit of walking around he pulled me aside to this small garden that was a bit more secluded. He got down on one knee, and well, here we are now!
I can’t help but smile when I look at my ring! We have been engaged for four years now and I still get giddy over it. My ring means so much to me because there was a lot of thought put into picking it out. When he would ask me about the types of rings I liked, I was a fan of the more simple bands, but he liked the more intricate bands. After proposing, he explained to me that he chose my ring because it is a combination of what we both liked. Not too plain, and not too much. It is just perfect in every way, and I still can’t believe that he went to the store and picked it out all on his own! When I look at my ring, I can’t help but think about how blessed I am to have such a thoughtful and loving partner.
