How We Met
#weswipedright on Tinder and the rest was history! We have been talking every single day since, 3.5 years later. We were originally long distance. I lived in Philly and she lived on the Jersey shore. I was so smitten by her jersey accent the first time we talked, I still remember exactly where I was in the streets of Philly when I first heard her voice. We started our convo laughing and to be honest, we haven’t stopped since. The first time we met, I HAD to be tipsy because I was so nervous.
We met up at a festival with all of our friends. I don’t remember a single moment but I remember it being so euphoric. We had to work hard over the years to get to where we are now because we were both in grad school and the time we could share with each other was minimal. It was tough sometimes because we wanted to be together all the time, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. We learned a lot about ourselves through this time and grew together as a couple.
How They Asked
Lexi fast-paced the engagement process because she thought I was catching on (i wasn’t lol). She brought me back to the place in her hometown where we take holiday pictures every year. With the help of her brother and sister-in-law, the experience was picture perfect. She kept trying to tell me she loved me while we were taking pictures and I was not getting it… I kept saying “lex… we’re trying to take a picture, can you tell me this later?” I was so in shock when she got down on one knee. I later found out that this exact spot was where she came to terms with her sexuality and realized she would be spending the rest of her life with a woman. It was such a meaningful and unforgettable experience and the most romantic way to start the rest of our lives together.
