How We Met
We met at work and worked together for close to a year before realizing we had a feeling for each other. We had both expressed our crush to mutual friends but neither of us acted on it. We went out to a bar one night for a friend’s birthday and were dared to kiss for free drinks. We ended up kissing and the rest is history. We fell in love shortly after that and have been together preparing for a future together, ever since.
How They Asked
On the day of the engagement, I had just finished working a 12-hour shift. I left, went home, and expected my girlfriend to be there. She was not. So she called me about the time I made it home and told me she was at her mom’s but that I had a surprise day planned and I needed to sleep. I was only able to get about 30 minutes of sleep. But I walked into our bedroom and found a note that was written for our anniversary which was days away. She poured her heart out and I fell in love all over again. So I was told I needed to “do my face” before heading to my hair appointment.
She set up an entire scavenger hunt. At each stop, there was a clue and a challenge. (Based on the amazing race). I relived our lives from where we met to our first time hanging out, our first kiss, first date. It involved all of our friends and family. I even got to take my shot at a gun range. I got my hair and nails done. And ended up circling back to our house where all our friends and family were to watch the video that had been made about my day. There was a table set up with pictures and flowers. And I gathered puzzle pieces along my journey that I eventually had to piece together and my final piece asked me to marry her. The end of the video doesn’t get the actual proposal but we have memories for a lifetime and I can’t wait to marry my best friend.
