HowTheyAsked Turns Two!
It’s not often that I share my own thoughts and stories on HHA, but in honor of our two year birthday, I thought I’d say a few words.
Let’s start with a quick stroll down memory lane, all the way back to the first story I ever published – the proposal of two friends. Around 500 published stories later (that’s where we’re at today, woo!), these two are very happily married, have a beautiful first home, and just welcomed a gorgeous baby girl into this world. It’s just amazing how a marriage proposal is the beginning of an incredible life journey. It makes me so happy to be a part of that first defining moment, and keeping up with the couples who have appeared on the site has become one of my favorite parts about running HHA. Every couple truly has such a unique history, proposal and future ahead of them, and I’m blessed that my job puts me front and center of it all.
My job puts me front and center of a lot of other things too – ups, downs, tons of freedom, even more stress, happy tears almost every day, an awesome community of startup folks and fab bloggers, amazing amounts of coffee, computer screen headaches, fun events, brand new challenges, and some great accomplishments too. I’ve hit defined milestones and stumbled on some pretty fantastic good fortune, which of course also comes with nerves, frustration, and tough times. But looking at the large picture (we should all take the time to do this), I’m pretty darn proud of what HowTheyAsked.com has become.
And that’s where you come in. That’s where all the thankfulness in the world comes in. Thank you to the couples who have shared their beautiful love stories with us. Thank you to all the talented photographers who are so passionate about capturing life’s most gorgeous moments and sending them our way. Thank you to the readers who take the time every month, week, and some even day to watch and weep, smile and share all the wonderful tales we tell. And a final thank you to all my friends and family who have supported me through starting this site two wild years ago. Without every single one of you special people, HowTheyAsked.com would never, ever exist. Thank you, really.
Here’s to the next two years being filled with more sweet love!
