How We Met
Gordon and I have known each other for almost six years & we have been officially together for four years in October,we already have our 1st home together and the start of our wee family- our boy, our cocker spaniel Cooper!
We started out as friends when we first met & after Gordon was in a life threatening accident we grew a lot closer & our feelings for each other grew stronger and in the end we fell in love. He is my truly best friend, my rock and I don’t think I could possibly find a stronger, more hardworking and loving man. I love him to the moon and back!
how they asked
I surprised Gordon with a trip to Rome for his 28th birthday – I decorated the whole house with balloons & pictures of us and made a Rome box with everything he needed! He walked into the lounge with Dean Martin – That’s Amore playing & he stood there in shock!! I told him to pack his bags, we have a flight in the morning!! We arrived in Rome on the day of his birthday and that night we got dressed up and went to the piazza navona for dinner to celebrate, later we decided to walk to the fontana di trevi and on the way there was a busker singing one of our favourite songs – Volare by the gypsy kings and Gordon turned to me & said it’s fate!! His smile was ear to ear! I knew then it was going to be a magical night… when we reached the trevi we sat at the front of the fountain amongst the hundreds of tourists and he told me this was the best birthday he has ever had & it has been such an amazing weekend, that maybe we should make it more special? He pulled out this amazing ring & asked me to be his wife!! I was in shock and full of tears and of course said yes!!!
He completely blew me away, the proposal was a complete surprise! Which is not an easy thing to do, especially since I actually own my own bridal shop with my mother,June Brides Glasgow which has been in the family for almost 30 years, so when it comes to choosing the dress, I certainly have it sorted!!
