It was a chilly night in Raleigh, North Carolina and I had just arrived earlier in the day. The warmest thing I brought was my faux fur cheetah coat, some knee-high boots, and leggings! William’s mother asked me if I would mind their family taking some photos for a Christmas card with the Raleigh skyline in the background before heading to dinner. I said that would be fine and I wouldn’t mind at all! I’m a tough one to surprise, so me knowing a photographer was already going to be there already made me think the proposal would not happen tonight! We arrived at the Boylan Bridge, a spot with an amazing view of the skyline. William’s parents took some photos while we waited on his two younger brothers (they were actually waiting at the restaurant)! The photographer called William and me to sit on the ledge to take some photos and I felt as if I were intruding on their family time! Little did I know! As soon as we took some photos, we stood up, and I almost said, “Can we please go?! I’m starving!” Before I could, William looked at me and I knew what he was about to ask me. One thinks they will know exactly how they’ll respond/react/reply in this situation, but I can’t begin to tell you how lost I was in that very moment! He knelt down, pulled the ring out of his pocket, and told me I was his love and he couldn’t wait to spend the rest of his life with me as long as I said, “yes!” My first response was, “WHAT?!” He gave me a concerned look and I immediately said, “Yes! Yeah! Ok! Yeah! What?! Yes!” I couldn’t form a complete sentence! Now we are set to be married in December 2017 and I couldn’t be more excited. Each day feels as if he just popped the question!
