How We Met
We met at a mutual friend’s July 4th BBQ party! At the party, we teamed up as pool partners and won the game even though I was terrible at playing pool. Jose wanted to teach me how to play pool, and that was our first date. The rest is history.
How They Asked
We went on a family walk with my parents on a Saturday at the Golden Gate Park. It was a beautiful sunny day! I always like to visit Dutch Windmill at the park for its whimsical nature and the Queen Wilhelmina Tulip Garden. I suggested going there to take some family pictures. Once we arrived at the flower garden, I felt we were in a fairytale town in the Netherlands. While I was setting up my camera to find the best spot for pictures,I turned around and found Jose got on one knee and asked me “Helen, will you marry me?” We were overjoyed! I had my fairytale that day! 💍
