How We Met
We met out at a local bar one night when we were both out with friends. For me it was a local spot, it had games to place and decent beers. For him, being a somewhat newbie just thought it was a good spot to check out when a buddy of his came to visit from out of town.
How They Asked
My fiancé is active military. We had gotten orders for him to move to Woodstock, Georgia from where we met in Greensboro, North Carolina. My fiancé has a little girl, who due to corona virus was doing virtual school. I was a COVID ICU nurse. I tried to work all the weekend shifts I could so I could be off to stay with his daughter during the week, but unfortunately I couldn’t be there everyday. We were always left with one day at least that I had to work. His mother, being the incredible woman she is, flew in from WI, where my fiancé is originally from, and stayed with us for over a month to help us with his daughter. With her being a teacher as well it was a God-sent. Unfortunately, his dad ended up hurting his knee and needing knee surgery so when the time came for surgery his mother was going to flight back to take care of her husband. My fiancé and his mother haven’t had an even remotely decent photo together since he graduated basic training over 8 years old so before she left we thought it would be a great idea to get photos done together. We included everyone, his mom, his daughter, our dog, and my parents. It was amazing. We had them done at Pilot Mountain, North Carolina. On our way back down from peak we stopped at a little overlook spot and the photographer was positioning me and then asked me to turn around and when I did, Zach was down on one knee. There was lots of tears and lots of excitement! Best day ever! Now that was are in Georgia away from all our friends and family, we can’t wait to get back to North Carolina to have an amazing party to celebrate our love and being with the people we love most since we left shortly after the engagement we haven’t gotten to do any of that yet.
