how we met
Timmy and I first met at work as teenagers. Even though we were young, we both knew there was something special about our connection. As with most teenagers, our future plans had put us on separate paths. We ended up going to separate colleges but still remained in touch with each other. After college and relationships that didn’t feel right, Timmy reached out to me to find out just how special our connection actually was. Our first date at Red Mango gave us the chance to realize that our separate paths were leading us right to this moment. That first date for frozen yogurt led to 3 years of happiness and a dog named Milo. During those 3 years of dating, Timmy had accomplished his goal of becoming a New York City Police Officer, while I achieved my dream of being a Registered Nurse.
how they asked
Heather: Once each of us secured our dream careers, Timmy knew it was the right time to tell me he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. On August 16, 2016, Timmy decided to ask me to be his wife. For me, it seemed like just another normal trip to the dog park. I was completely unaware of how my life would be forever changed. When we got to the beach area of the dog park Timmy got down on one knee and proposed. It was in that moment that I realized that my happily ever after was complete. Just when I thought my day couldn’t get anymore perfect, I was greeted back at his house by all of our family and friends.
Timmy: After weeks of planning and working up courage I finally did it, I asked Heather to marry me. I came up with the perfect plan to go to our favorite dog park to take our dog Milo on a walk along the beach, and without managing to raise too much suspicion from Heather, successfully pulled it off, and it was perfect.
