How We Met
We met back in 2011 in Atlanta, GA. We were both sophomores at Florida State University and were on a fraternity formal for the weekend. I had agreed to go with a friend of mine ( little did I know I would be roommates with my future husband. ) Rookie had actually taken a girl in my sorority and I was on the formal with his best friend. We flirted a little, exchanged numbers, and continued to be friends over the next few years in college. After we left FSU we lost touch and went our separate ways.
Fast forward to 2017. I had moved to Atlanta after graduation and was at the Florida State VS Alabama football game in Atlanta ( Go, Noles! ). There was a big tailgate outside the stadium with old friends – & Rookie just happened to be there. We caught up on the last few years ( he had just finished law school and was living in Panama City and I was preparing to go back to school again to be an Ultrasound Tech ). We talked for a little and again went our separate ways.
It wasn’t until June of 2018 when I went down to Panama City to visit when it became real. After spending the weekend together we both knew this was it. We traveled back and forth for a few months until he decided to move to Atlanta. He moved in November of 2018 and the rest is history.
How They Asked
We went to St. Augustine for my birthday this year to celebrate! My birthday is just a few days before Valentine’s Day so we decided to go to an early dinner and walk around the city after since we knew it would be crowded. He walked me over to the bridge with the sunset in the background and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. It was the best day ever!
