How We Met
Tyler and I met through mutual friends. I’ll never forget that day. He walked into our friends house and I thought he was just the cutest guy I’ve ever seen. I tried to make the first move but he completely blew me off. Later I found out he thought I was dating one of his friends. Tyler told me when he found out I wasn’t he kicked himself because he let me get away. Two years later on valentines days of 2017 he sent me a message on Facebook just making small talk he asked me if I had plans and if I didn’t we should go out and catch up. Needless to say that Valentine’s Day was our first date and we started dating that very same day. We knew we were meant to be just by that one date.
how they asked
Tyler asked me to marry him on September 2 of 2018 in Charleston South Carolina. I have family who lives there and that weekend we all got together. My aunt and uncle even flew in from Hawaii for the weekend. He told my family about it and my aunt even helped him pick a place. That day we went all over downtown. I knew something was up because the whole day he was acting weird. We finally made it to this park near the battery where there was this beautiful gazebo. Tyler took me up on the gazebo while my family stayed behind.
He told me to look at the water. My first thought was why I’ve seen this water my whole life since I would go there all the time to see my aunt. Well, when I turned around he was on one knee with a ring in his hand. I stood there in shock not knowing what to do our day he just simply took my hand asked me those four magical words will you marry me? All I could do was nod my head yes and cry. He placed the ring on my finger stood up and gave me the biggest hug. We both stood there as everyone around us clapped and cheered. That day was perfect because my whole family was there to see one of the happiest days of my life.
