Hannah and Jordan

How We Met – by Hannah: Jordan and I met at a Halloween function at Arkansas State University in 2011. We were both from the same hometown so getting to know each other came easy. I didn’t know what it was at the time, but there was something special about him. A week after we met, Jordan asked me on a date. After that, I knew his good looks, charm, and athleticism was something I wanted to keep around. Not only was he a perfect southern gentleman, but he also had all the qualities I was looking for in the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.

I guess the greatest relationships really are the ones you never expected to be in. The ones that sweep you off your feet and challenge every view you’ve ever had. With Jordan there are never enough “I love You’s” and amazingly, each time I hear him say it I fall even more in love with him. A love like ours happens once in a lifetime and I’m so thankful Jordan taught me what true love is. Looking back, the past 4 years wouldn’t be what they are without Jordan in them. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with my best friend and absolute best partner in life!

How We Met – by Jordan: It was 2011 and I was a sophomore in college at Arkansas State University. A few of my buddies and I were setting up for our annual fraternity Halloween party. We were all talking about how it was time we started looking for a woman. Not just any women though, the kind of women you can take back home to mom. The kind of women you want to spend the rest of your life with. Each of us threw out some names but quickly took them back as soon as we truly thought about it. That is until a girl by the name of Hannah Hurley popped into my head. She wasn’t someone I had spent much time talking to, but from the few times that we had spoken I could tell there was something different about her. As soon as I said her name, my friends laughed and said there was no chance any of us had a shot with her. A few days later I saw her at our Halloween party in the upstairs hallway. I knew if I was going to make a move then this was my opportunity (a woman like that doesn’t stay single for long). I turned to my friend to tell him I would be back in a minute. When I turned my head back around she was standing right in front of me. We started talking and after about 5 minutes of me trying not to fumble over my words, I noticed she was flirting with me too. I couldn’t believe my luck. We talked for most of that night and I asked for her number before she left. From that night on, when I think of her, I have felt something “strange”. The good kind of strange though. I didn’t know what it was at first because I had never experienced a feeling like it before in my life. I now know that it was the feeling of falling absolutely head over heels in love with the woman of my dreams.

There’s something undeniably romantic about New Year’s Eve — the romantic dinners, the champagne, the fireworks, the excitement, and promise of a new year. Plus…anyone who knows me, knows I look for any reason to celebrate, so what better holiday to propose!? When I told the girls I was going skiing with Jordan’s family, they laughed and reminded me that Jordan is GOOD AT EVERYTHING and he would have me on the slopes until the sun went down.

As always, they were right, and I couldn’t even walk after the first day. I was SO SORE! Jordan realized quickly that he was going to have to make a few calls to the transportation services to get me on top of the mountain. Jor and I spent our NYE day driving through the mountains on a snowmobile! As we were overlooking the MOST beautiful view, he looked at me and said….

Hannah Elizabeth Hurley, you know you mean the world to me right? I smiled and reassured him I felt the same way. He got down on one knee and said…”He couldn’t imagine going a day without me and asked if I would make him the happiest man In the world by marrying him?”

It was the most exciting, emotional, unforgettable moment of my life! It was better than anything I had ever imagined. After I said yes, Jordan took me to the nicest steakhouse to celebrate with the family. It was a day I will never forget!
