How We Met
Austin and I met a few weeks into our freshmen year of college. We lived in apartment complexes that were right next to each other and I met him randomly one day when I was walking from my apartment complex to the pool at his apartment complex. There was a spark between us right off the bat, but after a few weeks of getting to know each other, we decided it was best for us to remain friends. We went our separate ways until our junior year of college when Austin randomly decided to reach out to me and invite me for a weekend spent at his friend’s ranch. Long story short I agreed to spend that weekend with him and his friends and we have been inseparable ever since and got engaged on April 3, 2021. It was truly the happiest and most exciting day that I could’ve ever asked for!
How They Asked
The day that Austin proposed started out just like any other day. However, we had come home to stay at my Dad’s house for the weekend, to celebrate Easter with family. Austin, myself, and my sister, Mia, were just hanging out at the house when Mia asked me to run to the grocery store with her to pick up a few things that she needed. I didn’t think anything of it because running errands with my sisters when I am home, is a common occurrence. However, when we got back to my Dad’s house, I opened the front door and there were red rose petals sprawled all over the floor leading to my Dad’s pool deck in the backyard.
I immediately looked at Mia and said “what is happening?” Mia then started crying and I figured out that the two of them had been planning this and then I knew what was about to happen. I was so excited that I practically ran to meet Austin, which is when he spoke what was on his heart, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. I was in shock, jumping up and down, acting like a crazy person because I was so over the moon excited to know that I get to spend forever with my best friend and the most incredible man that I’ve ever known.
What makes it even more special is that my dad is going to be selling his house soon, the house that I grew up in, and I am just so incredibly thankful to have such an amazing memory to look back on when my family will no longer call that house, home. It was without a doubt one of the happiest days of my life. I could not be more excited to marry Austin!
