How We Met
We are a Bumble success story! We met through the app in March 2018 and talked for a few weeks. I turned him down for a few dates until finally, I got sick and he convinced me to let him bring me soup and Pedialyte. He was a marine and stationed 45 minutes away from me but he drove to me to bring me things to make me feel better. I remember thinking it was such a sweet gesture. That whole evening we talked and shared pictures of our lives and I had never felt more comfortable with someone in my life. I knew I had found someone special.
How They Asked
On New Year’s Eve, we decided to go to a Cuban restaurant in our town of Asheville. When we got there they told us our table wasn’t ready yet and to wait out at the rooftop bar that overlooked the mountains. As we walked outside I saw his parents, my best friend, and my mom, all who had come from out-of-state. I immediately started crying. I hugged everyone and when I hugged my best friend she told me to turn around. When I did, I saw Ryan down on one knee. He said to me, “2018 has been amazing with you as my girlfriend but I’d like to start 2019 with you as my fiancé. I love you so much and I want to spend the rest of my life with you, will you marry me?” My only possible answer was, “of course!”
