How We Met
Taylor and I met our first semester in college at Florida State University. I sat behind him in philosophy class and remember calling my mom after class one day and telling her that there was a cute guy that sat in front of me who had a southern accent, but we both ending up going our own ways — little did I know, 4 years later he would ask me to spend the rest of my life with him.
How They Asked
We were heading to Dahlonega to see his mom’s family to do our Christmas exchange, which was nothing unusual because they do that every year and I also went last year. I could tell he was nervous but didn’t think anything of it. We walked around the square and we stopped right in front of a pottery shop, it was also drizzling, but with the Christmas lights and decorations, it was such a beautiful evening.
After talking with me and expressing his love for me, he got down on one knee and told me he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. Of course, I said yes! And when we began hugging, I looked up to the left where I could hear people clapping and celebrating and that’s when I saw my mom, grandma, sister, and brother along with my fiancé’s mom, dad, and brother — not only did he pull of an incredible surprise proposal, he also surprised me with the most important people in my life! I wish I could relive that day over and over.
