How We Met
Corey and I both play softball and have some mutual friends through that world. We started chatting for a few days, and he asked to take me to dinner shortly after.
How They Asked
Corey and I had started discussing getting married about 6-7 months in. We knew that it was what we both wanted. I had told him that I still did not want to have any idea of when he was going to pop the question. We were getting ready to go out for my 30th birthday. We had to stop at my parents house on the way. We walked into my parents’ house and there were probably 30-40 people in their kitchen yelling “SURPRISE!” I was literally stunned and so excited to see everyone for my SURPRISE 30th birthday party! Then everyone gathered in the kitchen to sing Happy Birthday. Once i blew out my candles, Corey gave me this big hug and said “I want to spend the rest of my life with you.” (I shook my head yes, not thinking anything of it because this is something we say to each other quite often.) Before I knew it, he was on one knee, asking me to marry him! I was stunned all over again!It was truly a night to remember and everyone that I love got to experience that moment with me!
