How We Met
Brandyn and I met on 12/3/2017 after talking on Bumble for a few weeks. We went to a Christmas tree farm and picked out a tree for his apartment. Then, he cooked me dinner and we decorated his tree. Our engagement photos were able to be taken at the fairgrounds Brandyn and his family grew up going to, as his paternal grandfather was influential in starting the fair.
We also took photos at his grandparents’ property, which was also a significant place to us both, as this is where we got engaged. Brandyn grew up hunting and fishing on his grandparents’ property and he has many special memories there. This is also where we will be getting married! We were also able to take some engagement photos at a Christmas tree farm, which holds the significance of our first date.
How They Asked
It was a beautiful day on 8/16/2019 and a day I thought was just another day of fishing, drinking, and sitting in the sun. We were on the Rifle River, Brandyn’s favorite place, and he was teaching me how to fly fish. My feet were getting cold and I was ready to go sit down in my camp chair when he said: “one last cast and then I’m going to change flies”. When he pulled the ring out, he said: “what do you think this will catch me?” Before he asked me to marry him. I didn’t realize until after I said yes that he had to ask me three times because I was in such shock!
We were able to celebrate with almost all of his close family immediately afterward and we were able to call my family too, who had all known about his plan and were anxiously awaiting to hear the news!
