Bo and I often find ourselves saying how much we love our love story.
Not because it was some crazy sweep you off your feet, know right away he’s the one kind of love story, It was just the opposite. Slow, and steady, we took our time getting to know one another and falling in love. In a world that never seems to slow down, it was such a refreshing change of pace.
Maybe it’s because we were strangers when we met.
Bo and I were set up by a mutual friend. There was “no pressure” she said. I told her I was an “old fashioned girl,” and if he wanted to meet, he’d have to contact me. To my utter surprise he cold called me! I was impressed to say the least. We talked that night for an hour and a half, and a few days later we had our first date. To this day, every time we drive past that restaurant and our dog is in the car, Bo will say “That’s where it all started for your mom and I, Mr. Cade!”
Slowly over the next year, Bo with such patience, won over my heart. We fell deeply in love and on December 18th, in front of our first Christmas tree, opening our first Christmas presents together (which I thought were from his mom) was a gorgeous ring and a framed verse.
Bo got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! We celebrated that night with our closest friends and family at a surprise engagement party Bo had planned.
Although we’ve decided to get married in the picturesque forrest of Flagstaff, we also wanted to incorporate the hidden beauty of my hometown Yuma, AZ. I grew up watching the sunset off the Imperial Sand Dunes form my front yard, so when we started discussing engagement photos, I began dreaming of a black tie session at the Dunes.
What I wasn’t sure of, was if I could talk a photographer into doing that for us. Along came Benjamin Clifford with Benjamin Clifford Photography. The second I mentioned the idea he got so excited! I knew right then, this was our photographer, no doubt!
Our session at the dunes was better than we could have imagined. I find myself browsing the pictures almost everyday since! The combination of the natural beauty and Benjamin’s gift to capture it with his lens made for a truly special engagement session.
