Gwendolyn and Richard

How We Met

Gwen and Rich met in college on her swimming recruiting trip to Albright College December 2010 and right when Rich saw her, he  thought to his self, “that girl is going to be trouble”. They immediately became friends and we were always there for each other through any ups and downs. Fate could not keep them apart and neither could their attraction for one another. The story of their love began April 7th 2013 when Rich asked Gwen if she would be his girlfriend.

how they asked

Rich proposed to me in New Hope, Pa. We had just finished signing a lease for a house and we wanted to go out an celebrate. I had made dinner reservations at Marsha Browns a restaurant in New Hope where we went to celebrate our 1st year anniversary. Little did I know Rich had already scouted out the best spot to ask me to marry him, and asked for the help of his father who does professional grade photography for leisure. September 2nd, 2018 in the afternoon we got dressed and started to head out to the restaurant. It had been raining on and off all day so I asked rich if her would bring his umbrella. When we got to New Hope, Pa and parked, Rich stated that he wanted to grab a drink before dinner, and that he knew of a really cool bar near by.

We walked in the light rain under the umbrella until we reached this beautiful small park by the Delaware River and I had told Rich that I think we were lost. He turned around and smiled handed me the umbrella and asked me if I could do him a favor. I said ” of course!” Rich then got on one knee and said, ” will you make me the happiest man in the world and be my wife, Gwendolyn Mary Stefan will you marry me?”

I was in such shock I kept saying “oh my God!” and I said “YES” and then bursted out into tears of joy! Rich’s father and mother popped out from their hiding places and yelled “Congratulations!”.

We have beautiful photos from this moment due to Rich’s father capturing all aspects of me being surprised by the love of my life. Needless to say I was so happy and excited I could not eat dinner at all!
