I never imagined when I met him at work 3 years ago that I would be asked to marry him. Back in June of 2017, we went to Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Oklahoma, for my birthday weekend. This park is known for its natural springs and beautiful hiking trails. We fell in love with this place. We had found a beautiful, secluded trail that led to a natural rock wall that had a spring coming out from under it. That was our spot. I fell even more in love with him as he took photographs and just immersed himself with the breath taking nature that surrounded us. So that day, we decided we would be back at least one more time before the year ended. Little did I know my life would change for the better the next time I was there. In October of 2017, he told me he wanted to go back before The cold weather really hit. But this time, he wanted to share our spot with his parents who also loved hiking and exploring. So on October 28,2017 I found myself hiking that same path we found by accident back in June. At the time, I had no idea that my now fiancé was carrying that beautiful ring I had my eyes on months ago. But we finally made it to our spot. And just like that, I heard our song “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran. I turned around and he was down on one knee. I cried. We cried. Hugged. I was told later on I technically never said “yes”, that I just wouldn’t stop crying, oops! Now the rest is a journey we both will take on head on, and go through any obstacles that come our way!!
