How We Met
Carl and I met through a common friend. Her friend whom she met at my local church was dating Carl’s colleague from work. It was almost like a blind date. My friend and Carl’s colleague set us up to meet, in a group setting -dinner with some of my friends and some of his friends.
We actually became Facebook friends first before actually meeting in person. Carl sent a Facebook friend request on the day of when we were going to meet for dinner. I was hesitant at first but I approved his request eventually. Of course, I would like to check him out too before dinner. LOL
We became good friends as we have discovered a lot of commonalities. We were inseparable ever since. We just clicked! We are both adventurous, who loves to travel, etc. Who would expect we both can even share each other’s prescription glasses and we also go to the same doctor.
How They Asked
We originally planned a beach skydiving trip to Sebastian on May 19, 2018 (same day Prince Harry and Megan got married) but due to inclement weather in Florida, it got postponed to June 3rd. Did I say we’re both pretty adventurous people who had gone skydiving before and loved? Yes, we had jumped off of a perfectly good plane before. Only this time we would be landing on the beach. I had no clue that there would be a 6-month planned skydive proposal that was going to happen.
I really had no clue that as I landed on the Florida coast, I would find Carl on one knee with a couple of our friends holding a banner that said “Grace, will you marry me?”. Of course, I said YES! I’m extremely excited to marry my lover, my best friend, my ride or die, my partner in crime. Wedding planning is in full swing and it all feels very surreal! I just want to enjoy every minute of it because it feels like it’s all going by so fast! 09.19.2020
