The day after Grace graduated from UF, we had plans to get graduation pictures taken. On of our closest friends, Ben, is a photographer and was going to take graduation pictures for us. We had walked around to all of the best spots to take pictures on campus, and our last spot was the football field. No one, besides the team, is allowed on the field unless it is for graduation pictures. Ben was taking pictures with Grace’s back to the camera and wanted her to look back at the camera after a countdown for a nice hair flip shot. After about 50 hair flips and countdowns, Ben said “okay last picture. 1, 2, 3 go” I was down on one knee with the ring her Aunt custom made in my hand. Grace started crying, I teared up, and told her I knew from the day I met her that she was the one. She said yes, kissed me, and everyone taking graduation pictures cheered and clapped. Her mom, sister, and our best friends Lauren and Ben were there to be apart of our special day. Grace’s grandma was very special to her, but passed away years ago. I knew how imporant she was to Grace, so we used the metal from one of her grandma’s rings to make Grace’s ring. She was 100% surprised and we cannot wait to continue our life together. Love never fails, and I’m so happy to spend forever with my girl.
