How We Met
David and I had been together for over four years, so needless to say I was more than hoping that he would soon pop the question. I had been making sure that I was picture ready every time we went on vacation somewhere, just in case that day would be the day he decided to ask.
How They Asked
David had suddenly suggested an impromptu trip to DisneyWorld in the middle of September for us to celebrate our birthdays. DisneyWorld is my favorite place on earth so I, of course, jumped at the chance to go. On the morning of September 22, 2019, we woke up super early to make it to the rope drop at the Magic Kingdom.
I could barely contain my excitement as we walked into the park together. David suggested that we should get our photo taken in front of the castle together since the park wasn’t very busy yet. I picked the spot on the main street where we could see the whole park, and quickly got ready for our picture.
David came to stand beside me and we smiled as the photographer took our first picture. Suddenly David stepped away and reached for his pocket. I immediately started crying and had a complete girlish reaction as I covered my face with my hands. David smiled at me as he looked up at me from down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
I was so happy I could only nod through my tears at first before finally regaining the ability to speak and say “yes”! I remember hearing people cheer and clap, a small crowd had gathered to watch since we were near the entrance of the park. It was the happiest moment of my life at the happiest place on earth. My ring is from the Disney Enchanted Collection which makes the setting even more perfect. My favorite part of the engagement was the photo location I had chosen. The clock on the main street is in our engagement photos, and I hadn’t realized how I had chosen a spot that would not only capture the proposal but the exact time it occurred. It was a fairytale start to our fairytale life together.
