How We Met
Chris and I met through a mutual friend before attending a music festival in Denver. It was New Year’s Eve, I was smitten immediately and knew I had to find him for midnight. Through what seemed like thousands of people, I did find him and we danced the night away! However, our time was cut short as I lived in Albuquerque and he in San Francisco at the time. Eventually, I decided to move to San Francisco (for work) but inevitably, we started dating. The rest is history!
How They Asked
After about two years of dating, we talked about getting engaged which led to trying on rings. I thought I might know when he would propose – I had no idea! Over Thanksgiving of last year, we took a family trip to New Orleans. On our second to last day, we were supposed to meet my family in Jackson Square Park. While getting ready, my cousins tried to get me to get more dressed up and I was oblivious. When we got there, almost the entire park was empty because it had rained all morning. My dad asked someone in the park to take a group photo of us, and then asked the perfectly placed professional photographer if he could as well. Then they told Chris and I we should take a photo alone. I was still oblivious! It was not until he turned to me and pushed my hair back that I realized what was happening. He got down on one knee in front of our family and friends and I was so shocked I could barely get out a ‘yes’! Only my parents were in on it so everyone else was as equally shocked and excited! Chris has a hard time keeping secrets but he sure did with this! It was an amazing day. We will be getting married on New Year’s Eve of 2020 in Scottsdale. I cannot wait to spend life with my best friend!
