How We Met
It all started two and a half years ago when my best friend had a crush on a guy and wanted to have a hang out with a bunch of friends. Little did we know everyone would bail except for Judah (my fiancé) and I. We were stuck in the front seat together forced to talk to each other. This was easy given Judah’s extremely extrovert personality, he could talk to a wall and it would talk back.
For weeks to follow, Judah and I saw each other at school and at a college church ministry. He asked me to stay late after our church service because he wanted to talk to me. I said yes knowing I’m the back of my mind I just wanted to be friends. That evening he asked me out on a date. I said no originally then proceeded to say yes by the end of the conversation. He was my first boyfriend and the first man to ever ask me out face to face in person with intentionality. Ever since, he has been the greatest thing that happened to me. He’s so forgiving , encouraging, faithful, funny and of course he’s a hottie.
how they asked
Judah asked me to marry him in such a unique way. So, here’s so background information. I have been modeling for three years and I have worked with a wonderful photographer named Samantha White (she’s also a friend of mine). Well, she told me she had been asked to be a part of a collaborative photo shoot with a local store here in Jacksonville (Copper Closet), a local event planner (Loba Designs), local hair stylist/ make up artist( Blush and Mane) and videographers (Pine and Perfume). She also told me it was PAID, so of course I said yes.
I had been planning to go to the photo shoot for months. I obviously told Judah about it and he was beyond happy for me. The photo shoot was at a airport hanger and as soon as we arrived for the shoot the videographers were documenting my every move. I remember going to the bathroom a little overwhelmed at what was happening but I was excited for the photo shoot. I come out in lace white dress for what I thought was going to be my first paid photo shoot. I start posing by a plane for about 8 minutes and then Judah comes up behind me. I broke out in tears immediately. He kept saying “I’m so nervous. I love you. I’m so nervous… ”
He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. With tears running down my face and snot dripping down my nose (I didn’t want to ugly cry, but I did. ) I said YES! Then we got to have a photo shoot TOGETHER and Judah planned for us to take a ride in the airplane we were posing in front of. We got to ride off into the sunset as a newly engaged couple and enjoy chocolates and champagne together. God answered so many prayers by giving me Judah as my gift for a husband.
