How We Met
Aaron and I met in marching band at Henderson State University. One spring semester we got a ton of snow and a group of friends decided to have several movie nights as class had been cancelled campus wide. During those movie nights, Aaron and I got to know each other better and one night I convinced him to make his first ever snow Angel. After that, we became very close and on March 16, 2014 he asked me to be his girlfriend.
how they asked
One of the stipulations I had for him proposing was that there had to be a photographer there. I myself am a photographer, so pictures are important to me. He lives 6 hours away from me and so for Thanksgiving he came to visit and we had planned to get my senior pictures for college taken and a few couple shots because we don’t have any nice ones of us other than my occasional selfie. That Saturday we go out to the lake and are taking pictures in an area where I took some of him before. Towards the end the photographer asks me to hold a camera for a posed shot and Aaron says something about there being a sign in the background and asks if that’s been there the whole time. I’m like,, what sign. So they try to get me to read it through the camera cause I can’t read it from that far. Still couldn’t read it and I hear Aaron say let me see. When I turn around there he is on one knee asking me to marry him. It was perfect. The sun was setting on the lake with all its beautiful colors, the photographer captured the images, and the man who exceeds any dream I ever had was asking me to be his forever. Of course I said yes!
