how we met
Our story began in 2011 when we met on April second. Some might say we narrowly escaped April Fool’s day only to potentially become even bigger fools when we eloped two months later, but our love hasn’t failed us yet. Our relationship has been a journey to say the least. It took him to Afghanistan the entire first year of our marriage, and has taken all over the world in the eight years since.
When we met he was stationed at Ft. Huachuca and I was film student in Arizona. The odds were against us considering I never planned on dating a soldier, but he was different. His initial introduction involved touching my hair without permission, an act that would normally result in instant dismissal. For some reason rather than interpreting his advances as rude I saw them as bold. We bonded quickly and were inseparable from that night forward.

He proposed for the second time in Paris with the intention of having a real wedding and renewing our vows in front of friends and family on our tenth anniversary. We’ve been blessed on this journey and our story is proof that there is more than one way to fall in love and more than one way to live life.
