How We Met
We met at college, I was a freshman and he was a sophomore. We both had the same major and met in a core class. From the beginning, we had a great connection, we shared the same views about life, our ambitions, career goals, and the future. I felt like I had known him all along.
How They Asked
He told me we were going out for a date in New York City. He wouldn’t tell me where, but I knew I had named a dozen places in the last month of where I wanted to go, so I was super excited! So as we’re walking out of our home he says to me “We’re not taking our car”. at that moment I looked up and saw this beautiful, black, shiny luxurious Mercedes Maybach waiting for us. The chauffeur politely greeted us and held the door open as I took my seat. Then we were off to our destination. My soon to be hubby was playing all my favorite songs on the way in. I was enjoying every minute. When we arrived at our destination, I couldn’t help but notice this massive helicopter in the lobby.
It was beautifully decorated for the holiday season. I was in awe! The instructor introduced himself and gave us a safety lesson, and in no time we were off to the helicopter!! As we made our way, the instructor told us we could take quick pictures together before we boarded our private helicopter ride. I was so excited, doing my catwalk towards the chopper.
There I was ready to pose for a picture and as I turned around, Nick got down on one knee, presented me with the ring, it was shining with brilliance as he looked at me and asked: “Will you take this flight as my wife?” My jaw dropped, I totally didn’t see this coming. I looked into his eyes and confidently said YES, smiling from ear to ear! As I kissed my future husband, I could hear cheering in the near distance. Soon after, we entered the helicopter and took off to experience New York City like never before with breathtaking views of the Freedom Tower, The Empire State Building, Central Park, the Statue of Liberty and Times Square.
When we landed, our chauffeur was waiting for us with a message from family & friends congratulating us and a bottle of champagne to celebrate. We popped the bottle and made a toast to the future. Then he took me to 230 Fifth Rooftop for dinner and drinks! We enjoyed the outdoors with a view of the Empire State Building. He captured a photo of us toasting our glasses with the NYC skyline, one of my favorite pictures of the best day ever. To top it all off we got driven to Rockefeller Center to enjoy the magnificent Christmas Tree lighting up for the Holidays.
It was an experience I will remember for a lifetime. It keeps replaying in my mind how he planned every moment, the focus he placed on every detail and how he made me feel so special! Love was in the air, literally!
