How We Met
We were both in our second year of college at University of Southern Indiana. He was a teacher’s assistant for Communication Studies 101 forum class. I was one student out of 250 attending this class. At this time in my life, I was not looking for someone to date let alone fall in love with. I happened to add him on Facebook, initially to ask a question for an upcoming test. However, we became to talk and the question never came up! He asked me in a date, and after a couple months I fell in love with such a sweet, amazing guy.
how they asked
He asked at the beginning of the week if he could take us on the wine trails the upcoming weekend. Of course I couldn’t turn that down! (Because if anyone knows us, we love wine!)
That Sunday approached and I woke up late!! I didn’t have time to paint my nails like I had wanted. Jesse kept reminding me, it was okay that we were going to have a wonderful day! I got all dolled up and curled my hair and we were on our way! We went to two wineries and finally pulled into our last winery, which was Turtle Run. He said he wanted to talk a stroll in the vineyards. I thought it was strange, but I went along with it. I’m all for photos, so my initial thought was this would be a perfect backdrop for a photo.
We took a couple photos and I began to walk off when he grabbed my hands and told me how much he loved me.
He said he loved me even though I was a terrible singer ? He said he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. That’s when I had the biggest grin on my face and said “you better not be joking! There better be a ring!” He got down on one knee and pulled out a little green box and opened it to the most perfect ring I could ask for!! Of course I said YES and kissed my future husband!!
