Erin and Cody
how they asked
Cody and I were heading to the East Coast to spend time with my family and we decided that a few days in the city would be a great mini getaway. The five years that Cody and I have been together, he always said that he never wanted to go to NYC so I was a bit shocked when he loved the idea. All he said he really wanted to do was see Times Square at night. That evening we went to a rooftop bar to watch the sunset over the Hudson and then planned to go Times Square.
Once we got to Times Square, we people watched for a bit and then this woman came up to us and asked if she could take our photo. She said she was in photography school and was trying to build her portfolio of couples for her project. Of course we said yes and then she took a few photos and then Cody got down on one knee and grabbed my hand.
The moment was all too surreal that we were in Times Square at midnight, at least a hundred people circled around us clapping, a photographer to capture it all on film and most importantly the love of my life asking me to spend the rest of his life with him.
I couldn’t have asked for a more storybook of an engagement.
After a whirlwind of a trip, we plan to enjoy our engagement and have a fall Texas wedding with all our family and closest friends.
