How We Met
Kenny and I met online! It was love at first swipe. I’m in the Air Force and he’s in the Army. He was stationed in Honduras when we met and moved to Savannah shortly after. We had so much fun in Savannah, doing ghost tours and exploring the city. We have a dog named Toast, and he is with us everywhere we go.
How They Asked
Almost one year later, on his birthday, Kenny asked in the perfect place. Our last weekend in Savannah, we met a bunch of friends at Forsyth Park for a birthday picnic. When we got there, our friends asked for a photo in front of the historic fountain. After we took their picture, they asked to take ours. Since it was our last weekend in our city together, we happily obliged. As they took our picture, a bugle player started playing Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling In Love” and Kenny got down on one knee.
Kenny said he was going to wait until later, but when that perfect moment happened, he couldn’t help himself! I can’t remember if I said yes, but I must have! And of course Toast had to be part of that perfect moment. We always said we didn’t have “our song”, but thanks to this perfect stranger at our proposal, now we do.
