How We Met
I met my fiancé, Zack through mutual close family and friends. I was coaching softball and had gotten really close with one of my players and they’re family. I coach softball at the University of North Alabama and he coached football at the University of Alabama Birmingham. They decided it would be a good idea to set us up so they invited Zack to come to one of the tournaments I was coaching in Chattanooga, TN. We met on a Friday, June 8 2018 and he asked me to go on a date with him that night (I was two hours late and he still waited for me!). The next day, my parents came to the tournament and met him which was only the second day of knowing each other! Sunday of that weekend after the tournament, Zack came to my house in Scottsboro with me and the rest is history!
Three weeks later, we went on a week-long trip to Daytona Beach just the two of us. He told me he loved me the day before we left for the beach trip and I felt the same way and told him I loved him a couple of days later! After that, we have had a long-distance relationship for 2 years making it work between both of our busy schedules and it still feels like yesterday that we met each other! We actually went through a little rough patch where we weren’t together because everything was moving so fast that it terrified us that we could actually have those feelings so soon but a month later we both realized we were meant to be together and have been ever since! It honestly feels like I have known him all my life and to say he is my best friend AND fiancé is just unreal to me!! We are so blessed and thankful to have each other to go through all the craziness this life brings us!! These are the first pictures of us from the first few weeks together.
How They Asked
Zack planned a whole surprise day for me that was honestly more than I could have ever imagined or dreamed of! He had a few of my close friends tell me that we were going to have a girls’ night and get all dressed up and take pictures and go out for dinner. This was on a Friday so the whole week before my girls were taking me out to eat and just making me feel so loved all week.
I was told to go shopping for a special outfit that I might want to get engaged in and to get my nails done. On the day, the girls planned everything from what I should wear to what time I needed to meet them. They took me to our university campus which is the University of North Alabama where I coach softball at. We walked around taking pictures with each other and just having a good time! We left there and headed to another place to take pictures before we were supposed to go to dinner.
We got to this old bridge in Florence, AL called the Old Railroad Bridge and as we were talking to the bridge, I see Zack standing in the middle of it with rose petals leading up to a heart made out of red roses. He had pictures of use all around us that made it so special. While I was walking toward him, the song that we listened to together when we first met called That Girl by Outshyne and has been our song throughout our relationship was playing which was one of the most special moments!
He asked me to marry him, I said yes and we turned around and all of my family, his family, and our friends were there waiting for us! We all then to went to one of my friend’s houses to celebrate with a party themed “taco about love” and just spent the rest of the night enjoying each other and celebrating with our closest friends and family! It was the most perfect day!
