How We Met
Almost 12 years ago (Nov 2010), Nick & I were introduced by friends at an epic house party while Nick was back home/visiting our hometown of Annapolis, MD during the holiday break from college. After I successfully defeated Nick in an intense game of beer pong, I also successfully won over his heart. With a lot of love and life lived (& built) in between, fast forward to May 7, 2022, when Nick proposed in my favorite place (as a self-proclaimed homebody): our first home in none other than Annapolis – where it all started!
How They Asked
For years (maybe even decades), whenever the topic of marriage/engagements came up, I always told my sisters & friends that it would be my dream to get engaged in an all-white room with candles & a violinist.
Years later when Nick started working with them on the plans for our real-life engagement, they totally forgot about that thought (like anyone would) and planned a beautiful proposal on my parents’ dock followed by a boat ride (our favorite pastime) to a surprise engagement party.
The weekend of the big day rolled around, it was nothing but the rain that forced them to pivot. A pivot turned into the stars aligning and making my actual dream come true as I walked into my home after a Mother’s Day photoshoot (aka all dressed up) to find Nick on one knee in our home surrounded by thousands of white roses, candles, and a live violinist playing my favorite 90s romcom song: Bittersweet Symphony. Bitter is what some may consider rain on a particular day but I say it’s a beautiful sweet symphony.
