How We Met
Nicholas and I met my freshman year of college at Louisiana State University. He was a sophomore and I was a freshman at the time. He was actually my assigned lab partner. We both felt an instant connection, but we didn’t act on it for months. As soon as we started hanging out outside of the lab we realized we wanted to be together for the rest of our lives. We think God put each other in our lives at the perfect timing and we truly were made for one another. We dated for two years after until he popped the question!
how they asked
Nicholas’s proposal was absolutely perfect and sentimental. He told me we would be going on a nice dinner at a restaurant near my parents house. We have lived in that house for 17 years so the house and neighborhood is really special to me. I grew up with all my friends spending time at our neighborhood lake and park. It is by far one of my favorite spots of all time. He told me before dinner he wanted to take a walk from my parents house to the lake. It was about to rain, but I went along with the idea anyway. Nicholas was acting very excited and nervous so I had a feeling something was going on, but never believed he was going to propose! Once we got to the lake, we walked to the prettiest bench and he grabbed my hands and started talking about how he wanted this moment from the day we met. Also at the same time both of our families were peeking around a fence and there was a professional photographer taking pictures. I was so surprised I was completely clueless!
He got on one knee and it changed our lives forever. Afterwards he planned a party with all of our closest family and friends to celebrate this huge blessing. It was definitely the best day of my life!
